PGDay.IT 2015: online i talk accettati

Ormai il PGDay.IT 2015 è vicinissimo, e la lista dei talk accettati è disponibile sul sito ufficiale dell'evento.

Il keynote speaker di questa edizione è affidato ad Andres Freund, un nome piuttosto noto nella comunità internazionale grazie al suo lavoro sul sistema di replication.

Io avrò l'onore e il piacere, per la seconda volta (terza nella storia di ITPUG), di partecipare all'ITPUG-Lab, un open space dedicato a PostgreSQL, grande motivo di aggregazione e fonte di ottimo successo nelle precedenti edizioni.

Ubuntu do-releease-upgrade: worst update manager ever (?)

Ok, I'm not the right person to judge the good quality efforts behind the Ubunt/Kubuntu update manager, but I have to say that I was never able to do a clean upgrade without any problems. The last time I upgraded my whole system I spent almost a week trying to get 3D video card acceleration back, as well as tuning again my Perl library and RT.

Sounds like it is not a well-automated upgrading...at least in my experience.
